  1. In a heatproof bowl set over a pot of gently simmering water, combine all your ingredients.

  2. Whisk continuously for 7–10 minutes, until the mixture is thick, frothy, and silky. You’ll know it’s ready when the whisk leaves a trail on the surface that slowly folds back in.

  3. Pour the warm zabaglione over slices of panettone and enjoy right away.

  4. For an extra cozy touch, gently blow-torch the surface for a hint of toasty caramel flavor.
